A stunning pair of antique Adam style double-arm sconces, dating from 19th century, and found in a home in New York, NY. The cast bronze sconces were originally gas, and now completely wired for electricity. They feature a shield-shaped backplate, crowned with a flame-topped urn and bordered in volutes and bell flower detail. Two sleek arms with their original trefoil-shaped gas keys extend from a leafy cluster at the center of the backplate to support foliate cups. These wall lamps are in very good antique condition with a beautifully aged and darkened finish; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The sconces are 16-1/4” tall, 14-1/4” wide, and project 7” from the wall.
