A delightful pair of Neoclassical carved wood sconces, dating from the early 1900’s, and found in a home in Eerie, PA. Each figural sconce is crowned with a fancifully knotted rope finished in tassel; it loops through a finial at the top of the backplate below. The backplate continues the roped motif, also finishing in larger, more elaborate tassels. Slender brass arms extend from the backplate to support whimsical birds nested within flowers; petite candle cups crown the birds’ heads. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The sconces measure 35-1/2" tall, 13-1/4" wide, and project 9" from the wall. There is a complementary sconce pair available under #NSP1286-RW.
