Magnificent pairs of antique Neoclassical wood sconces, dating from the 1910’s, and found in a home in Chicago, IL. Each sconce features a substantial shield-shaped backplate ornamented with a scrolling volute border, acanthus leaves, stylized bellflowers and a beaded swag. An elongated baluster-style arm extends from the bottom of the backplate to hold an understated candle cup. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation.
