Unusual Pair of Antique Copper and Bronze Figural Double-Arm Sconces from England
A remarkable pair of antique figural sconces, dating from the 1920’s, and stamped "AA." Originally made in England, these double-arm sconces each depict a different and beautifully cast scene - the first sconce features a domestic scene with an old maid holding a pitcher; the second features a capped gentlemen smoking a pipe in repose. Two scrolling bronze arms extend from the bottom of each circular, copper backplate to support understated two-part bobeches. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The sconces measure 9-1/2" wide, 10-3/4" tall, and project 5-1/4” from the wall.
