A stunning antique cast iron fireplace cover set, dating from the early 1900s, and found in a home in Chattanooga, TN. The summer cover is ornamented with an urn brimming with flowers and scrolling foliates. The surround features a complementary design of foliate flourishes and volutes; the surround has been spot welded to the cover to make it one complete piece. This summer cover set is in good antique condition with some minor rusting and a beautifully aged patina; it is missing one of its buttons. The surround measures 24-1/2" wide, 30-3/4" tall and 2-3/8" deep.
