A beautiful antique cast iron fireplace cover set, dating from the early 1900s, and found in a home in Chicago, IL. The summer cover features a trio of fleurs-de-lis in its center, surrounded by a beaded oval border enveloped in foliates and ribbons; the top of the fireplace cover is draped with swags of floral garland and bows. The surround features a complementary design of anthemions, urns, foliates, ribbons, and fleur-de-lis. This summer cover set is in very good antique condition with some rust and minor pitting at the bottom; it is missing one of its buttons. The surround measures 24-1/2" wide, 30-1/4" tall and 3" deep; the insert measures 20-1/8" wide, and 26-1/2" tall.
