A beautiful antique cast bronze Eastlake door knocker found in a home in Charleston, SC, and dating from the late 19th century. The door knocker features a scalloped backplate with a combination of foliates and geometric details typical of the Aesthetic Movement; the U-shaped knocker affixes to the top of the backplate and descends below to hold a circular medallion with an eight pointed star in the center. The door knocker measures 3” wide, 7-3/4” tall, and projects 7/8”.
