Marvelous antique cast iron fireplace, dating from the late 1800's and salvaged from a home in Northern Tennessee. This mantel is crowned with a notched shelf that sits above a tapered central cartouche and features beveled detailing; two substantial and squared off legs frame the stepped firebox opening. The simplicity of this mantel would allow it to blend with a large variety of decorating styles. It is in good antique condition with a notched piece missing on the left side of the firebox opening, as pictured; it has been painted a brownish-red. The mantel measures 53-1/2” wide, 43” tall, and has a 9-7/8” projection; the firebox opening is 18-1/2” wide and 25-3/4” tall.
