Marvelous antique walnut mantel, found in Philadelphia and dating from the 1880's. The fireplace mantel features a beaded top edge; Below the projecting shelf, stylized foliates flank a garland and bow center panel. On both sides of the firebox, acanthus leaf brackets curve down to meet baluster-shaped legs. The mantel legs feature gadrooning and beveled details. This mantel is in good antique condition, with some chips and wear to the paint as pictured. The mantel measures approx. 59-1/4" wide, 48" tall, and 11" deep; the firebox opening is approx. 41" wide and 35-1/2" tall.
