A stunning antique hand carved Federal mantel, dating from the 1820's, and found in a home in Nashville. The mantel is crowned with a beveled and notched mantel shelf; the mantel face below is ornamented with a fluted oval flanked with grooved detailing. The mantel's legs feature panels of concentric rectangles and finish in a pilaster-styles base. The mantel is in very good condition with the expected wear and some larger screw holes (as pictured.) It measures 85-1/8" wide, 62-1/8" tall and 6-3/4" deep, and has a firebox opening of approximately 56-3/4" wide and 43-3/8" tall.
