A beautiful antique walnut fireplace mantel, dating from the late 1800’s. The mantel features intricate ornamentation in the form of domed rosettes, grooved brackets, volutes, scrolling foliates, and three dimensional urns. Two turned spindles flank each mantel leg and connect to brackets which support the mantle shelf above. The mantel is in very good condition with the excepted wear, and has a small section chiseled out of its shelf (as pictured.) The mantel measures 74-1/8” wide, 51-1/2" tall with a projection of approx. 16”; the firebox opening is 41-5/8” wide and 36-3/4” tall.
