A fabulous antique five-light Neoclassical chandelier, dating from the early 1900s and made and signed by Empire Lighting. The chandelier begins with a foliate-embellished canopy, coming down in a short rod and chain to an arched finial atop an urn; the urn is ornamented with petite fleur-de-lis and polychrome accents in red and green. The pierced, bowl-shaped body suspends below and is ornamented with a radial design of stylized foliates, volutes, and roped detail. Five downward facing bobeches suspend from the perimeter of the fixture, each holding an exposed bulb surrounded by a curtain of sparkling “icicle” prisms. This light fixture is in excellent condition. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 19-3/4" wide and 18-1/2” tall, and the fixture is 33-1/2" long overall.
