A beautiful antique Neoclassical lantern with its original hand cut glass shade, circa 1915. The one-light pendant begins with a foliate bordered canopy, descending in chain to meet an arched loop finial within a leafy bowl. Four scrolling bands descend below the bowl to affix to the cylindrical lantern body with petite florets; the fixture’s original shade is encased within the framework. The frosted shade features a wheel cut design of grapes, berries, and vines. The light fixture is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The shade is also in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks, just the expected fleabites around its edges. The pendant body measures 7-3/4" wide, 13-1/4" tall, and 27-5/8" long overall.
