A stunning antique five-light inverted dome chandelier with its original hand-cut glass shade, dating from the early 1900s and found in a home in Chicago, IL. The fixture begins with an understated canopy hung with four loops; four reeded rods descend from the loops to support a substantial silver plated ring. Four bracket-style arms extend from the perimeter of the ring to hold chamfered candle cups; intricately detailed Neoclassical ornaments are interspersed between each arm and feature bellflower swags, ribbons, and volutes. A domed, frosted shade suspends from the underside of the ring and is ornamented with a wheel-cut design of stylized leaves, vines, and berries; the very bottom is accented with a star. This chandelier is in excellent condition, and the glass shade is also in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks, just the expected fleabites around the rims (as pictured). The light fixture has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The pendant measures 16-3/4" wide and 32-3/8" tall.
