Wonderful Antique Chandelier with Original Polychrome Finish, Early 1900s
A wonderful antique five-light cast iron chandelier, dating from the early 1900s and featuring its original polychrome finish. The chandelier begins with a shield embellished canopy, coming down in a chain to an oversized finial composed of volutes. The ring-shaped, cast iron fixture features a grooved texture and an underside ornamented with stylized foliate and berry designs. Five elegant arms extend from the bottom of the domed chandelier body, crested shield medallions suspend below each light. The fixture features orange and green polychrome accents throughout and finishes in a dangling foliate finial. This light fixture is in excellent condition. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 15-7/8" wide and 16" tall, and the fixture is 36-3/4" long overall.
