Offering a beautiful, framed lithograph by N. Currier. This is entitled GERTRUDE, and is a drawing of the bride on her wedding day.
The visible part of the lithograph measures 9 1/2" x 13 1/2". The entire framed piece measures 19" X 23". The text on the bottom reads: Lith. & Pub. by N. Currier, Entered According to Act of Congress in the year 1846 by N. Currier, in the Clerks Office of the District Court of the Southern District of New York - 152 Nassau St. Cor. of Spruce N.Y. There is also the signature on the LR corner of Flora A. ----- (unreadable).
The lithograph shows lines and creases and I suspect it was not mounted in its early life. There are no tears, foxing or bug hole damage, but the rumpled surface is evident. There is some light age toning.
The frame is gilded wood and both glass and frame are in good condition with no damage. The back has no sealing paper and the cardboard holding the print is seen.
A lovely portrait of the young bride.
