Offering an old, hand painted Chinese ginger pot. The cover is missing from this piece but the work on the body is exquisite and unusual and stands on its own.
The pot measures about 5" in height and about the same in diameter. The mouth opening measures 2 1/2" including the small raised rim.
Lifting the pot on their shoulders and acting as legs, are three Chinese men in traditional robes.
The rim of the pot has a flowing, raised from the surface border, in red and gold.
The body of the pot is covered with hand painted flowers and birds in flight.
The base of the pot has Chinese characters in red and a small blue stamp with a cartouche at the center.
Light overall crazing but no chips or cracks.
