Offering a vintage, Italian porcelain Capodimonte lamp circa the 1920's.
This 24 carat gold accented lamp, measures 18" from base to socket top and 8" - 9" in width.
The porcelain body features six bulging segments: three with ornate floral work and three with scenes. One has a woman surrounded by three naked cherubs and they appear to be dancing. The second segment has a man and a dog and they appear to be out hunting. The third scene is of a woman, again with three naked cherubs, and I think they are feeding her. There is a repetition of these putti, painted around the upper stem of the porcelain body. The porcelain of this lamp has no defects, no chips or cracks.
The base of the lamp is a very ornately patterned, silver tone metal. This metal has a small chunk out of it underneath (have shown this in a photo), plus a small split in the metal along one of the lines of the design. Not easily seen from the surface, but visible when you turn the lamp over and look into the interior of the base. The metal beneath the socket also shows some surface wear.
The lamp needs to be rewired as not only is the wiring old, the plug is European.
