Offering a gorgeous, antique, completely hand made Mondano netting lace table cloth. Netting dates back to the days of sailing ships when sailors mended their nets. There have been pieces of netting lace found in Egyptian tombs. Netting is done with a shuttle similar to a tatting shuttle.
This tablecloth measures 75" X 55" and was made sometime at the turn of the last century, by a member of my extended family.
The color is a cream / ecru and I think the material is linen. The design is a wonderful geometric pattern accented with flowers.
I found two small, pale stains, and a few broken bridges or bridle pulls. Otherwise in great condition for it's age.
