Offering this special 1965 edition of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, translated by Edward Fitzgerald, with stunning illustrations by Robert Sherriffs.
Published by Collins, London and Glasgow.
There are dozens of vibrant illustrations here, and the book contains the first, second and fifth editions of this classic work in poetry.
This beautiful book comes in the original, hard board slipcase which is in excellent condition.
The book is bound in dark blue, or black, leather and has gilt edges pages. The boards and binding are solid and undamaged except for the spine which is heavily sunned from years in a bookcase with just the spine exposed. The owner kept the leather binding protected by a plastic sleeve which has a small tear in it.
Nothing is torn, broken or otherwise damaged on this book and if it weren't for the sunned spine, and light shelf wear at its base, it could pass for new.
