Offering an antique Victorian Valentines Day card.
This is a large Valentine card measuring 10" X 7 3/4" when closed. It opens and there is a poem inside. The face of the card has four levels.
The first level is the base one which is embossed paper in gold and pink wild roses.
The second level is ecru colored paper doily.
The third level is a blue, embossed paper with a little boy delivering a bouquet of flowers.
The fourth level is cut out ecru colored doily, with the face of the delivery boy pasted onto it.
The little paper legs that hold each level away from the next, are all there but have been folded so long I cannot keep them open. They keep refolding into place so I couldn't get a picture of the card with layers all opened apart. The paper has peeled in spots and there are a few edges on the doily lace torn or missing. You can see one folded paper leg on the left which was once covered with a bit of silver lace paper.
The card opens to reveal a picture a Victorian love poem which I have provided a close up of so you can read.
This card has no big rips, or writing on it. The paper has yellowed a bit and as I mentioned some of the doily is separated with small bits now gone.
