For your consideration is this lovely doll with the face of an angel. She is a 23” tall antique bisque head doll made by the Alt, Beck & Gottschalk Company in Germany circa 1900. This company was founded in 1854 and were famous as the manufacturer of very high quality dolls of all kinds through the early 1900s.

This doll is MARKED: 2 ½ A. B. & G. Made in Germany
-Perfect bisque head with NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs.
-Expressive, sweet face with a lovely soft complexion and well blushed, very pouty cheeks. There are two very faint rubs on the right cheek.
-Pierced ears wearing crystal and red stone earrings. There are NO chips on the ear holes.
-Pretty deep chocolate brown original sleep eyes that open and close well. The plaster looks to have been replaced at some time. She has delicately painted upper and lower lashes over molded upper lids.
-Nice, highly molded brows expertly painted with layered, feathered strokes.
-Lips are deep pink with a cute pouty upper lip, 4 upper teeth and little pink tongue showing. Nostrils and inner eye corners are also dotted with pink accents.
-Original 15 piece composition and turned wood body with minor restoration around the neck opening and has been restrung. It has some scratches, marks and wear consistent with it’s age. The finish has worn off from the lower arms and hands, but everything looks original and no missing or rebuilt parts. It is stamped on the back hip in red 'Germany'.
-Lovely antique blonde mohair wig in good condition with wispy tendrils down to the shoulders. It is adorned with a big red, pure silk bow.
-She is wearing a gorgeous antique white cotton dress with Empire waistline, inserted lace across the bodice, openwork lace around the neckline like a bertha collar, sleeves also are ruffled with openwork lace. The neckline is threaded with white silk ribbon so it can be gathered and tied tight in back where it also buttons. The sleeves also have white silk threaded and tied in bows. The dress is in very good condition with no damage and no repairs.
-Unders include a vintage white cotton full slip, antique petticoat with ruffled hem and lovely antique pantaloons with openwork lace trim.. Vintage stockings and off white felt tie shoes in good condition.
-On her bodice is a pretty rhinestone heart pin with a red stone accent.
-She also carries an antique handkerchief with crocheted edging and drape design crocheted on one corner.
-A word about antique dolls. Please be aware that these lovely treasures are over 100 years old and usually have been played with and/or stored for many years. The bodies may have scratches and marks consistent with their age.
