This is such a pretty girl with her deep brown eyes and lovely antique mohair wig, She would love to come and meet you and your other girls. She has a lovely personality and gets along very well with others.
Here are her details. 24" J.D. Kestner antique German bisque head doll, mold # 168. Circa 1900.
Marked: Made in F Germany 10 168 08
Bisque head has NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs. A couple of wig pulls on upper right rim area. Nice full cheeks well blushed. Right cheek has a teeny scratch. Lovely complexion, pretty face with molded, multi-stroked brows and delicately painted lower lashes in short downward strokes. She would have originally had hair upper lashes but they have worn away over the years. She has lovely dark Brown sleep eyes that work very well. Full wax on left lid, some flaked off on right lid.
Shaded and outlined coral pink lips with Kestner's trademark painted upturned corners on her open mouth showing 4 molded upper teeth The left front tooth has a tiny flake off the surface. I touched it with a dot of paint and you can only see it well with a loop. I think some little girl may have been feeding her with a spoon.. you know?
Nice original 15 piece ball jointed composition Kestner body stamped in red Germany 3992. It has it's original finish with minimal restoration. 2 fingers on right hand have been rebuilt.
She is wearing a beautiful, hand made antique gown with a wide open work ruffle around the bottom, many rows of pin-tucking all down the bodice and sleeves and lace trimmed neckline and cuffs. It has one tiny pin hole on the skirt but I see no mends. It ties in back at the neck and has two buttons. I added a pastel blue silk ribbon sash to match the bow in her hair.
Wig is her original light brown mohair one. It's very full and has lots of ringlet girls. I put an antique pate with it, but she also comes with her original plaster pate that has a half moon piece missing from the front area.
Her Unders are all antique including a cute sheer cotton onesie that snaps in back, antique petticoat, long cream colored cotton stockings and nice older black oil cloth shoes with original bows and ties in good condition..
She carries a pretty antique hankie with delicate lace on the corner and wears her favorite hand painted glass brooch with blue forget me nots on it. She all dressed up in her Sunday best and just waiting to join your collection.
Thanks so much for your interest, I hope you find something you just can't live without. Very best to you, Dolly hugs,
