Here's a heavy bronze medal to commemorate the 100th year of the Statue of Liberty. It's got a very stylish design signed by the artist Marcel Jovine. Lady Liberty is on the front with the calendar of the anniversary year (1986). On the back is the famous poem on the statue itself by Emma Lazarus-- "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free ..... I lift my lamp beside the golden door".
The medal is in high relief, and is solid bronze. It measures 3" in diameter and weighs 294.3 grams. It was made the year before the anniversary and on the side of the medal it says "1985 Medallic Art Co. Danbury, Ct Bronze".
