Here's an interesting piece of medical equipment. It's a doctor's head mirror from around the 1940's. The piece is marked "Bausch & Lomb" (for the optics). The mark on the back, and also says "Boilable". The other manufacturer is marked on the screw in the back and it says "Penn USA". The leather headband is 23" long and the convex mirror is 3 1/2" in diameter. The piece is in good vintage condition. It would be good for display. The leather is worn and delicate at this point - there's a 1/4" tear in the leather near the mirror. The mirror and the fittings are all in good condition. The adjustable bracket is riveted to the leather and swivels to the desired angle.
Many will remember seeing these on doctors in days past, but not too many are still around.
