Here's a really charming tin in the form of an alligator suitcase dating from the early 20th century. It was sold by Edmondson & Co of Liverpool England and was once filled with toffee housed in this great keepsake. It is 10 1/4" long by 6 1/2" wide by 3 1/2". The advertising inside the lid is a great surprise - bold and striking.
The faux alligator sides, the leather handle, and the well made sturdy closure make this such a great decorative piece. Perfect for stashing things and also great if stacked with other luggage style boxes.
The condition is very good - a few scraps and stains and areas of fading. But overall it has a really nice patina that takes a very long time to achieve.
