Here's a very nice pocket sized sterling silver nutmeg grater made in 1813 by Joseph Willmore in Birmingham, England. The silver grater is very well made with ribbing on all of the outer sides, and the top and bottom have a gentle curve to them. The piece is 1 3/8" long and 3/4" high. It has a full set of English hallmarks which show the maker, town, date, standard mark and the KIng's head representing the era of King George lll. The overall condition is very good - there are some very slight little pin prick marks inside the lid, they don't show on the outside and are very minor.
It's not easy to find these wonderful little boxes for carrying and grating nutmeg. Sterling ones in good condition and with a good maker like this are even harder to come by.
