Here's a very nice looking and well made nickel plated nutmeg grater made by Dubarry in 1931. It is 4 1/4" high and 1 3/4" wide. It has a nice classic design in the style of an silver antique type that was made around 1800. It has two compartments for holding nutmegs. The top one opens to reveal a divided space with a metal divider in the middle. On the bottom is a larger compartment. The design has a rococo style design with a central shell design. It is in very good vintage condition.
Inside the top compartment is an insert / divider and if you lift it out, the maker's name and British registration number is on it. It reads: "Dubarry PRO. PAT. RD 765097".
This is part a of marvelous collection of nutmeg graters I got recently. It's a very appealing form.
