Here's a fantastic purse size compact in 18k gold and made around the 1930's in Austria. It weighs a hefty 53.6 pennyweights or 83.3 grams, which is all gold except for the small mirror inside, and of course, a tiny bit of powder and lipstick. It measures 1 7/8" long by 1 2/8" and is 3/8" high. The compact has a mirror inside and a lipstick (which pulls out to use), and a section for powder. It is marked in numerous places with Austrian touchmarks for the gold content and place of origin.

The design is a wavy engine turned plaid and is decorated similarly on both top and bottom. It is in wonderful condition. You put it in your hand and just marvel at the weight and the craftsmanship. So elegant!

NOTE - I am putting this on sale for a short time. Reduced as it is now the value is very much in the gold weight. Good time to buy this beautiful thing!
