Here's an 1861 Civil War era 22k gold coin that was altered to be worn on a bracelet or a necklace years ago. A hole was drilled in the coin and by adding a ring it could be worn again as a pretty pendant or charm. It is 9/16" in diameter, just over 1/2". On the front is Liberty dressed as an Indian Princess and "United States of America" around the edge. On the back it says "1 Dollar" and the date of 1861.
The detail on the coin is very good. It would definitely make a pretty and interesting pendant or charm and loaded with history.
