Here's a large and wonderful Victorian English basin and pitcher - or jug and bowl, if you prefer. It was made in Stoke upon Trent in Staffordshire by a quality firm called T.C.Brown-Westhead, Moore, & Co. The marks on the bottom identify the maker and the date it was made - 1873. The bowl is 15 3/4" in diameter and 6" high. The jug is 12" high. They are very heavy and well made. The transfer decoration is from the aesthetic movement, I love the large scale flowers and leaves all in the monotone browns.
Originally these would have been in bedroom before sinks were available. Now they could be used separately or together in so many ways. The condition is excellent.
This exciting store is an eclectic "Curiosity Shop" for the Lover of wonderful old things.
Lots of variety and a wide range of prices is what we offer. I think it's more fun that way!
