Here's a large silver plated jewelry box made around 1900 by the Derby Silver Company of Connecticut. It measures 12 1/2" by 3 1/2" high and 5" wide at the center. The box has such beautiful curves with repousse flowers and swags and a beautiful Lady's head in the center. The condition is really wonderful since the silver plate is barely worn. Inside the original silk lining is left as it is. It is a pale blue color which looks it's age, and that's not always a bad thing!
The key is not with it, but the key hole add to it's look of importance. The maker the Derby Silver Co. is marked on the bottom.
All and all - a stunning box. It would add a lot of elegance to any dressing table or bureau.
