Here's a really unusual and great looking photo album from around 1900. It measures 7" by 4 1/4" and is just over 2" thick. The top has a beautiful hand tinted photographic print on celluloid of a large sail boat traveling along the shore. The album is covered in a gorgeous rich green velvet. The edges of the album pages are gilded. The latch to close it works perfectly with a spring action that really holds the book closed. The are 12 pages. There are a trade mark embossed in the back of the inside - it has a moose image in the center and the initials "S.B.". I will try to research the maker.
The condition is very good - the pages are tight and there is only normal type of wear. There is one page that has a slight rip by the corner photo slot (see photo). Overall this is well preserved and very appealing.
