Here's a really special powder dresser jar from around 1900. The lid measures 4 1/2" across the diagonal. The height of the whole piece is 3". The heavy sterling silver top is wonderfully decorated and has an initial "B" engraved in the center. The glass has a lovely etched design of floral swags. The condition is excellent. The maker's mark for R. Blackington is on the rim, and it's marked "sterling".
A very substantial and well made piece and about as large as a dresser jar gets.
Note - obviously you can line up the silver lid on the glass in different ways -I put it on 2 different ways in the photos - you can decide which way you like better.
