Here's a heavy beautifully made Sterling Silver compact by Elgin American from around the 1950's. The top side has lovely engraved design in a leaves and floral motif. The design is also partly gilded which adds more interest to the workmanship. It is a engraved to "Marg Darling" - I love that. I'm sure Margery did too.
Inside is the original beveled glass mirror and the compartment for powder. It's in great shape - very heavy and very special.
