Here's a wonderful early Halloween print made in 1872 by B.F. Rienhart. The print shows a boy carving up a great Jack-o-lantern. The boy, holding the carving knife, looks down with pride to the little girl who seems more interested in the pumpkin than her doll left on the ground. It is a chromolithogragh print which was done especially around the late 19th century and created beautiful colored images. The print is in a nice period wooden frame with a gilded liner. The frame measures 16 3/4" by 14 1/2" and print itself is 13" by 10 3/4".
A really special Halloween piece, and plenty early too!
