Here's an unusual desk seal in solid sterling silver in the form of a cherub climbing on an oversized finger ring. It is made by Berthold Muller or Mueller, a late 19th century import firm based in London, England, who imported decorative and interesting Dutch and German pieces of silver. The pieces are very collectible.
At the base of the seal are the initials "M.H.P" in beautiful gothic letters and of course backwards, to come out forwards when the seal is used. The seal is just about 2 1/2" long and 1 1/4" at the widest. It has a Chester date letter of 1907. It is also marked .925 for the sterling content and the firm Berthold Muller's initials "B.M." For the Muller collector, seal or cherub enthusiast - this is a wonderful find.
This exciting store is an eclectic "Curiosity Shop" for the Lover of wonderful old things.
Lots of variety and a wide range of prices is what we offer. I think it's more fun that way!
