Here's a great little ruby flashed, three handled cup commemorating an event in 1913. It reads in gold letters on the front, "To our Commander-in-Chief - April 1913". The cup is 3 1/2" high and 1 3/4" in diameter at the top, excluding the handles. What the event was is still a mystery, but, for example there was a Joseph Mason Reeves in the U.S. Navy who in April of 1913 assumed command of Jupiter (AC-3), the Navy's first electrically propelled vessel. It is possible that many of these cups were made to commemorate an event such as this and given to all those aboard ship. Just a thought, I'll still be searching, but for now - this is a very nice cup made 101 years ago. If you can help with the specifics, please let me know!
