Here's a great plate from 1916 with lots of interest to it. It's 7 3/8" in diameter. The plate is white with gold decoration and a colorful transferred design. It was a promotional piece and a give away for a store in New Haven, Connecticut On the top it reads "Compliments of I. M. Adler" - a store selling wines and liquors and also a steamship ticket agent. It was located at 186 E. Chapel St. in New Haven. The romantic image of the Indian Girl in the center of the plate added a lot of fun to the piece. The plate is also a calendar plate for 1916. So the age is considerable - exactly 100 years. The plate's makers mark is on the back. The condition is quite good with just the expected faint crazing under the glaze.
This exciting store is an eclectic "Curiosity Shop" for the Lover of wonderful old things.
