Scotch Agate Claymore / Broadsword Brooch - Victorian 1899
Here's a great piece of Scotch Agate jewelry in the form of a claymore or Scottish sword. It is 5" long and has 3 different agates including Jasper and bloodstone. The pin is set in sterling silver and has wonderful hand engraved sections. It has a full set of hallmarks on the back of the brooch. It was made in Birmingham, as were a lot of the Scottish agate pieces towards the end of the 19th century. The date letter is for 1899. The sword this pin represents is a Scottish Highland claymore or broadsword which unlike most claymores features a basket hilt design. It's a very strong design and an unusual piece of Scottish agate jewelry.
Gender: Female, Age Group: Adult, Color: multi colored, Size: 5" long
