Here's a lovely 19th century pallet in a rich dark wood which has been painted by an artist in 1885 with roses. The pallet is 11" long and the artist signed with his initials "C.N." next to the date of 1885. I always look out for these pallet painting but they aren't common. In some cases it is said that an artist would start to use the pallet for a painting and wind up painting the pallet itself - perhaps because he started to see a picture emerging. This is a really nice thing, the 19th century pallet alone is worth the money.
