Here's a stunning 3" long brooch in the form of a Lily of the Valley. Made of 14k gold and 10 genuine pearls, this striking pin is from the 1950's. The piece weighs 12.3 grams. The 14k gold is polished on the outer leaves and has brushed gold on the inner side of the leaves. The pearls have subtly different colors and have a sort of random spacing to them on their stems. The pin is marked 14k on the back of the pin and the clasp has a safety clasp. The condition is very good - only the tiniest problems would include a very slight bend on the very tip of one leaf (see photo)and a tiny bit of glue showing on the join one pearl to the stem and that can easily be taken care of. Altogether, it's weathered the last 50 - 60 years very well. This brooch has a lot of style and good design and an economy of design that fits the mid century. By the way - at the Royal Wedding, Prince William's bride Kate had a bouquet of Lilies of the Valley!!
