Here's a wonderful antique figural salt in the form of a teapot. It measures 2" long by 1 1/4" high. The salt was made by Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings Shepherd. Saunders & Shepherd made all kinds of small silver items like bookmarks, buckles, pincushions, and napkin rings to name just a few. The hallmarks on the bottom show the maker's mark CS FS, and also the sterling standard mark, and the symbol for Chester where it was made. The date letter is not readable on the bottom but there are a second set of hallmarks on the lid and they clearly show the date as 1908. It weighs 15.1 grams. The condition is very good with only slight signs of wear.

I always look for figural things especially in silver - this piece is well made and has a very nice form.
