Here's an elegant large French gilt bronze picture frame dating from the late 19th century or early 20th century. It measures 15" high at the center (including the decoration on top) and 11" wide. The height at the sides is 12 3/4". The window is 9" by 7" - which in the photos is showing my reflection as I take the photos. The frame weighs just over 4 pounds.
The Frame has beautiful detailing all around the border with floral and leaf motifs and beading. At the top is a lovely wreath with a bow, plus a quiver on one side and a torch on the other. All around the border are 12 egg shell blue panels set into the frame. The pale blue with the gilt bronze create a striking effect.
The frame is marked "France" on the back. The back panel slides down in order to put the perfect photograph inside. This is one fantastic picture frame.
