Here's an unusual plaque using early cigar bands under glass and mounted on a glazed white ceramic backing. The piece was made in Spain around 1910 and utilized some wonderful old bands, mostly from Havana. One band mentions the Havana Yacht Club, another has a bulldog on it. There are names like Punch, Famabella, John W. Merriam & Co, Ruy Lopez, and many others. The central figure is a man I can't identify. If someone has an idea who it is - let me know. Meanwhile, the plaque measures 8" in diameter and the white glazed border is
1 1/8" wide. There's a hook on top to hang it too.
The glass causes reflections in the photos but the piece is in good shape for its age. The colors are slightly faded but still quite bright. It's a must for a cigar lover.
