Central Australian Aboriginal Hunting Boomerang - Covered in Red Ochre - image 1 of 6

Here's a beautifully made Aboriginal boomerang. This form was used in Central Australia for hunting. It measures 30 1/4" in length and is 2 3/8" at the widest point. It is covered in a red ochre stain, and has longitudinal grooves and is convex on the top side, and the bottom side is relatively flat - without grooves. The wood is a dense heavy wood. The condition is very good. It has one little rough edge on the bottom tip as seen in the photo. I think it probably happened when it was used, which is fun to imagine. It does not detract from the overall look at all.

So, If you like this boomerang - buy it. Even though boomerangs do circle back this opportunity won't.
