Here's a beautiful Aesthetic Movement Gorham card case in sterling and mixed metals dating from 1881. It measures 3 1/2" by 2 1/2" (not counting the chain). It weighs 3.13 troy ounces or 97.2 grams. It's in excellent condition.
The scene on the front shows a young couple next to a tripod with a fire burning. On the reverse side is a bulrush plant. The case has a very nice chain with a great looking link. Inside are the marks for Gorham on one side, and on the other side it says sterling & other metals and the Gorham date letter for 1881.
It's beautifully detailed and so well made with great age and great design.
