Here's a handsome long Victorian sterling silver ladle. It was made in 1848. It's in the fiddleback pattern. It's fully hallmarked with the date letter - for 1848 with Queen Victoria's head mark for that date, the leopard town mark for London, the lion passant for the sterling standard, and the marker's mark for Samuel Hayne & Dudley Cater of London. It weighs 240.2 grams or 7.72 troy ounces, and is 13" long. The bowl is 3 3/4" measuring across the top.

The condition of the Ladle is very good - there is a slight indentation on the back where the join of the handle is, but this is the way it was made. I have seen this before.

Ladle up whatever you are serving with this beautiful ladle and it is bound to taste particularly good.
