This is a lovely set of Aesthetic Era Petra Dura Earrings with Open Fans and Forget Me Nots. This era had a secret meaning for everything seemingly. In the Victorian era, an "open fan" generally indicated a woman's openness to conversation or a desire to be approached by a potential suitor. Also noted is the Forget me Nots and the Twig and Rope design, often signifying that she was interested in getting to know someone and wanted them to come talk to her fan, twig and rope elements date these pieces to the Aesthetic movement of the 1880's.
The earrings have their original wires. If you are a collector of Victorian era or Aesthetic Period Aesthetic jewelry you know how difficult it is to find an original set of Aesthetic Movement era Petra Dura Earrings.
