This is a fantastic pair of Arts and Crafts Pressed Leather Hunting Dogs In Leather Frames. Both of these pieces show Hunting dogs in pose.The dog on the left is a Labrador Retriever, Brittany. The dog on the right is a and has a wood grouse in its mouth. They were purchased here in northern New Hampshire. There are many many examples of wonderful Arts and Crafts lake homes here in the north. I believe these came from one of those great lodges. Also embossed around the dogs are fiddle head ferns and other water related shrubs. The frames are made with a base of tree limb, split and then covered with leather. Each of these pieces are fragile. They could be hung and enjoyed for years in your lodge, cabin or home. Without hesitation I tell you they are among the most wonderful items of my career. A decorators dream item!
